Original Mixed-Media, Hand-Embellished Carborundum Etching by James Coignard, Signed, Framed, 1980s

This is a lovely and unique Original Mixed-Media, Hand-Embellished Carborundum Etching by listed French artist James Coignard. The piece is signed, numbered 53/75 and framed. The piece is undated but is typical of the artist's work in the early 1980s. On the back panel there are faintly written the words 'ecriture-ecritures' which we believe is the title of the work.

Although this piece is from a series of 75, each work is unique and hand embellished with mixed media elements and hand painting over the carborundum etching. This piece also has a torn paper panel laced into the surface with string at the bottom left corner. It is a very engaging piece of art. It come nicely framed in a brass colored metal frame, ready to hang.

The piece is in excellent condition with no discoloration or damage. The frame has minor age-related wear but looks great overall.

Framed, the piece measures about 20" x 24".
