Antique Rustic Swiss Walnut Side Table, Possibly 17th Century

This is a fabulous antique rustic walnut side table. There is a very old sales label on the underside that describes it as Swiss walnut table, 17th century. We have no way of verifying this, of course, but the table is similar in construction and overall tone to other examples. Our table is of simple form and is fully doweled, no apparent nails or other hardware, and the wood is certainly aged.

It is in stable condition, no loose joints. The top surface has considerable patina, wear, and scuff marks. There is also a natural grain crack with minor loss on the surface which actually enhances the mood of the piece. There is evidence of typical very old wood-boring activity with some minor loss (see images) but nothing recent.

This is a very unique and desirable side table. Not perfect, but looks pretty amazing! We have made no attempt to refinish the piece other than to dust it.

It measures about 23"w x 16.5"d x 26"h.
